The General Laborer will play an essential role to multiple functions of UDA's plant operation. You will act as the go-to for cleaning, sanitation, waste disposal, product movement, and tasks that require some true grit. 

This is a day shift role: Monday-Friday 6am-2pm

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Perform general housekeeping duties for production powder warehouse and packaging areas, including general sanitation, cleaning, sweeping, etc.
  • Perform miscellaneous production powder warehouse support duties including sorting, stacking, etc. 
  • Provide relief coverage for packaging operators as needed
  • Perform the efficient operation of all packaging equipment to maintain established production standards for pounds per hour of finished product and bags per hour
  • Maintain proper packaging supply stock
  • Keep accurate and legible records
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area at all times
  • Adhere to all SOP’s and HACCP guidelines
  • Always maintain food safety and quality standards, resolving and/or reporting compliance issues immediately

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Safely lift, carry, maneuver, push, and pull items, as heavy as 60 pounds, on a repetitive bases and for extended periods of time
  • Operate moving equipment and electric pallet jacks.
  • Experience using a forklift to move pallets.
  • Basic understanding of food preparation and/or production line process
  • Understanding of basic math for inventory and report logging purposes
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to complete various tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read, hear, speak, comprehend, carry out instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts - including holidays and weekends

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a plant production, warehouse, production worker, construction, or general labor, preferred
  • Experience with a forklift, preferred.

Education:

  •  High school degree or GED preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, reach, lift, push, pull and carry items up to 60lbs, regularly
  • Requires ability to walk and stand for 12 or more hours at a time
  • Requires ability to safely operate equipment by visually observing the condition of equipment and surroundings
  • Requires ability to hear and speak, occasionally in high time weighted average environments with elevated decibel readings (using appropriate hearing protection)
  • Requires ability to push and pull items up to 100lbs 
  • Requires ability to climb ladders and stairs of various heights including floors of 100ft or more
  • Requires ability to work in varying extreme hot, cold, and wet temperatures and conditions
  • Requires ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals
