JOB SUMMARY:

The QA Lab Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and integrity of lab operations. This position involves meticulous coordination of lab tests and associated paperwork, adhering to company policies and procedures. Accurate and organized record-keeping is a key responsibility, involving proficient data entry and maintenance of comprehensive records. Efficient management of product samples is crucial to facilitate smooth testing processes. The QA Lab Clerk also contributes to general lab activities, including testing and cleaning, as needed. This role demands reliable work attendance with minimal unplanned absences, fostering a dependable presence. Moreover, the QA Lab Clerk is entrusted with conducting investigations and overseeing data management integrity, further solidifying their pivotal contribution to maintaining and enhancing the lab's operational efficiency and quality assurance standards.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate lab test and paper work throughout the process
  • Follow company policy and procedures
  • Complete data entry and maintain accurate and highly organized records
  • Maintain inventory of product samples in an efficient and organized manner
  • Coordinate customer sample requests
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed, including general lab testing and cleaning
  • Dependable work attendance record with few instances of unplanned absences  
  • Performs investigation and takes charge of data management integrity   

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Highly competent in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Willing to embrace new software systems and be a source of contact for locating data
  • Understanding of HACCP, GDP, GLP, SOP that are maintained in a highly accredited lab
  • Detail-oriented and efficient in entering correct data

Skills & Abilities

  • Enhanced typing skills
  • Ability to Communicate and collaborate both orally and in written form
  • Team player and self-starter who can work independently
  • Organize, prioritize, and maintain effective work relationships with other departments
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Requires knowledge of science instructions and grading specifications  
  • Maintain needed supplies for the day to day operation of a science lab
  • Risk analysis and key communication for result outliers

Experience

  • Upstanding of lab equipment and accounting systems
  • Able to create BOL and COA efficiently
  • In depth understanding of chemistry and microbiology results

Education/Certifications:

  • Must have High school degree or equivalent
  • Must have basic math and computer skills
  • Willing to learn new systems and adapt to change
