JOB SUMMARY:

When you're shipping to customers all over the world, things can get hectic. It takes a special navigator to ensure we know product is on-hand and where it needs to go. That's where our Forklift Operators come in!

The Forklift Operator will ensure the safe and efficient movement of product and inventory throughout UDA’s warehouses. 

Schedule: 12hour schedule: 6am-6 with every other weekend; OR 8:30-5pm M-F working every 2-3 weekends


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Operate forklift to maneuver, transport, and load various product and inventory from staging to storage areas and trailers
•    Ensure forklift safety protocol is always enforced
•    Perform daily and weekly forklift, scissor lift, and pallet jack assignments

*     apply labels to bags and re-wrap pallets

•    Re-stack pallets, pull outbound loads, stage, and prepare paperwork for multiple warehouses
•    Accurately check-in and load trucks including verifying load numbers, schedule, truck weights, pallet numbers, bag counts, etc.
•    Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage
•    Verify the cleanliness of pallets and storage racks for loading/shipment
•    Communicate with supervisors and operators to coordinate trailer moves
•    Record and input data logs into inventory management system
•    Always maintain food safety and quality standards, resolving and/or reporting compliance issues immediately.

OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
•    Ability to safety drive and operate forklift, scissor lift and electric pallet jack
•    Team-player mentality with the ability to self-manage and prioritize time, tasks, and projects
•    Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and document control systems
•    Excellent time-management skills with the ability to complete urgent tasks safely and accurately 
•    Strong communication skills with the ability to discuss and generate inventory reports, business correspondence, and procedure documents
•    Effective communication skills with the ability to comprehend and communicate written and verbal instructions
 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience operating a forklift or similar heavy machinery required
  • Needs to have experience operating a propane forklift!! (electric forklift experience will not qualify!)
