JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Who screams for Ice Cream? Just about everyone... Our Milk n More store is looking for a Retail Store Clerk to play a crucial role in our engagement with the community. 

As a Retail Store Clerk you will assist customers and UDA employees who visit our store. We sell fresh dairy products (Milk) and freshly prepared foods, snacks, coffee ("n More"). If you love customer service and have a knack for preparing and packaging foods - we'd love to have you on our team! 

 

*** SCHEDULE: MONDAY - FRIDAY 10AM-6:30PM ***

* Payrate: $16.75/hour *

 

RETAIL STORE CLERK PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Provide amazing customer service to all guests and employees of the store
•    Prepare and package hot and cold food items
•    Stock inventory and prepare wholesale orders for shipment
•    Oversee cash register and kiosk devices to process customer payment in various forms (cash, credit/debit, employee account)
•    Maintain store cleanliness and safety by performing general housekeeping which includes cleaning and sanitizing all work areas, counters, tables, floors, cases, coolers, freezers, etc.
•    Perform repetitive actives, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized throughout shift
•    Inspect incoming and outgoing product to ensure that it meets quality standards
•    Notify management of problems with equipment
•    Adhere to all safety, health and Weights and Measures regulations
•    Always maintain food safety and quality standards, resolving and/or reporting compliance issues immediately

 

RETAIL STORE CLERK QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
•    Strong customer service skills both in-person and over the phone
•    Adaptable and dependable personality with willingness to always support customers and team members
•    Ability to complete tasks with sense of urgency while maintaining a positive and welcoming demeanor
•    Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately track inventory, perform cash transactions, and conduct basic mathematic calculations 
•    Ability to operate basic packaging and kitchen equipment and tools
•    Understand basic computer systems and technology
•    Knowledge of good food handling practices
•    Strong time management skills with the ability to oversee multiple customers and projects
•    Strong problem-solving skills
•    Ability to work flexible work schedule which may include some nights and weekends
•    Communication ability to communicate clearly

Experience: 
•    At least one (1) year of experience in customer service position a plus
•    Previous experience working in a café, deli, retail store, food production, or as a barista is a plus

Education/Certifications: 
•    Maricopa County Food Handlers Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  
•    Requires ability to walk and stand for 12 or more hours at a time
•    Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry items up to 55lbs
•    Requires the ability to safely operate equipment
•    Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings
•    Requires ability to work in varying extreme hot, cold, and wet temperatures and conditions
•    Requires ability to hear and speak, occasionally in high time weighted average environments with elevated decibel readings (using appropriate hearing protection)
