Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with potential weekends

JOB SUMMARY:

When you're shipping to customers all over the world, things can get hectic. It takes a special navigator to ensure we know product is on-hand and where it needs to go. That's where our Forklift Operators come in!
The Forklift Operator will ensure the safe and efficient movement of product and inventory throughout UDA’s warehouses. 


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•  

  • Perform Plant Forklift Operator duties as assigned.
  • Communicate and work closely with team members, Warehouse Management Team to accomplish goals.
  • On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklift or other job specific
      equipment.
  • Re-stack pallets as necessary, pull outbound loads, stage and prepare paperwork accordingly.
  • Put away new production and record accurately.
  • Accurately check in and load driver/truck including verification of load number, schedule, pallet numbers, box counts, etc.
  • Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas
  • Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers or other shipping containers.
  • Ensure outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage and perform trailer inspections on iPad
  • Verify no broken pallets, replace as needed.  Verify pallet wrap and top sheet are intact, and pallets have no debris on top.
  • Ability to access forms and perform all system functions associated with day to day job duties including but not limited to the UDA IMS systems.
  • Apply labels to boxes which incudes partially unstacking boxes and re-wrapping pallets.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
  • Adhere to all SOP’s and HACCP guidelines.
  • Adhere to all UDA quality, safety, and GMP policies and procedures, reporting any
      nonconformity.
  • Other warehouse operations and duties as required.

OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Ability to safely drive and operate forklift
  • Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instruction in English
  • Requires ability to work with minimal direction and by self at times.
  • Requires ability to manage time effectively
  • Requires ability to communicate clearly with warehouse co-workers and truck drivers
Frequently
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of Technology (iPad, Bar-code Scanners, or inventory management technology/Systems)

Experience: 

  • Must have at least one year of previous forklift experience

  • Physical Demands:
  • Requires ability to sit and drive a forklift for prolonged periods of time.
  • Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry items up to 55lbs.
  • Requires ability to work in a freezer environment with temperatures as low as minus 10 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Requires ability to climb on and off a forklift multiple times during shift.
  • Requires ability to safely operate equipment.
  • Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings.
  • Requires ability to hear and speak.
